DecipherWorld is a game-based learning platform operated by GyanLearn Edusolutions Private Limited ("GyanLearn", "we", "us"). Our players are primarily children in Grades 6–8, so we designed the platform to work with as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
Gameplay data. When anyone plays, we record game decisions and outcomes (for example, in Lemonade Empire: what stock was bought, the price set, the day's profit) and learning-progress measures derived from them. We use this to run features like leaderboards, to generate learning reports, to adapt game difficulty, and to improve the games. This data is linked to a random guest identifier, not to a verified identity.
Name and grade. Players may type a first name or nickname (shown on their game and, if they join, on leaderboards) and select a class (6, 7 or 8), which sets the starting difficulty. We encourage children to use a nickname. Please do not enter full names, addresses, or contact details in the name field.
Parent/guardian contact details. If a parent subscribes to a paid plan (e.g., Parent Pass) or requests weekly reports, we collect the parent's contact details (such as a phone number) and payment is processed by our payment provider. These features are intended for adults; by providing these details you confirm you are the child's parent or guardian and consent to the associated processing.
Technical data. Our hosting and analytics infrastructure processes standard technical information (IP address, device/browser type, pages loaded) to serve the site, prevent abuse, and understand aggregate usage. We configure analytics to avoid building profiles of children.
Game data is stored with our backend provider (Supabase, hosted in the Mumbai, India region) and the site is delivered via Cloudflare's global network. These providers process data on our instructions as processors. We may also use payment processors (e.g., Razorpay) for subscriptions and messaging providers (e.g., WhatsApp Business API) to deliver reports a parent has requested.
Gameplay data tied to a guest identity is kept while the account remains active so progress isn't lost. You can ask us to delete it at any time (see Section 7). Payment records are retained as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
For users under 18, the DPDP Act requires verifiable parental consent for processing personal data, and prohibits tracking, behavioural monitoring for advertising, and targeted advertising directed at children. Our approach: the core game is designed to be playable with minimal personal data (nickname + grade + gameplay); features that involve richer personal data (subscriptions, phone-linked reports) are gated behind a parent or guardian acting as the consenting adult; and we do not serve targeted advertising to anyone.
You (or your parent/guardian on your behalf) may: ask what data we hold about a player; ask us to correct it; ask us to delete a guest identity and its gameplay data; and withdraw consent for parent-linked features at any time. Write to the contact below — we respond within a reasonable time and in any case within timelines required by law.
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), access to the database is restricted by row-level security and role-based keys, and payment details are handled by the payment provider — we never store card or banking details ourselves.
