An inter-school competition for Grades 6 to 8 across three October dates. One computer period, no cost to the school or students, and a certificate for every child who takes part.
On 15, 20 and 23 October 2026 we are running the first DecipherWorld Business & Money Olympiad for Grades 6 to 8. Schools pick whichever of the three dates suits their calendar.
They run a small business for three simulated days and are scored on the profit they make. Doing it well requires unit cost, ratio and proportion, percentages and break-even — the Class 6 to 8 NCERT concepts, applied rather than recited.
It takes about 30 minutes. It runs in a browser. There is nothing to install.
Nothing, to anyone. Not the school, not the students, and there is no upsell to the school at any point.
Pick a date, give us a teacher's name and number, and book one computer period per section. We send class codes and a one-page instruction sheet three days before. Afterwards every participating student receives a certificate, and the school receives a report showing which maths concepts came out strong and weak.
A first name and a roll number. No phone number, no email address, no photograph, no home address. Children are never asked to create an account or a password, and we never ask a school for parent contact details.
Two reasons, and it is worth being straight about both.
The first is that a competition is a genuinely good format for this material. Every student on a given date faces the identical market, so the class debrief afterwards is a real argument about what the right price was — which is a better maths lesson than most worksheets.
The second is that we are a young company and this is how we reach students who would never otherwise find us. We would rather say that plainly than pretend otherwise.
